The United Nations' World Economic Social Survey (WESS)  is recommending the implementation of several new taxes, including the so-called billionaires' tax, to raise enough revenue to fund global programs and target poverty. Critics contend that compliance with the survey would result in the greater loss of national sovereignty with minimal progress to show for it.

According to a new DHS study, in the unending War on Terror, the Department of Homeland Security continues to see the American people as potential threats, particularly those who love liberty and want to see their nation restored to its constitutional foundation.

U.S. Representative Steve King (R-Iowa) has announced that he will file a lawsuit against the Obama administration for its refusal to deport hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens. King has made it clear that he is “not bluffing” and that he intends to forge ahead with the suit, criticizing what he calls “unconstitutional overreach” on the part of the Obama administration.

While the Obama administration is pushing for the U.S. Navy to "go green," with biofuels, reports indicate that the efforts will be costly and are not particularly beneficial to the environment.

The United States Senate is currently working on cybersecurity measures, but Senate Democrats and Republicans cannot reach an agreement on key provisions. Meanwhile, privacy advocates are opposed to all the cybersecurity measures proposed and have circulated a Declaration of Internet Freedom.

Despite Thursday’s controversial Supreme Court ruling on ObamaCare, states retain the right and authority to nullify the healthcare law, and the state of Missouri, among many others, is undertaking efforts to do just that. According to Missouri legislators, regardless of the High Court's ruling, Missouri voters will maintain the opportunity to vote for or against the so-called Affordable Healthcare Act in November. And Missouri is not the only state seeking to circumvent ObamaCare.

Late Thursday afternoon, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt for failing to fully comply with the congressional investigation into the ATF's gunwalking scandal "Operation Fast and Furious." The vote was 255 to 67 with 17 Democrats breaking from their party to vote in favor of the contempt measure along with Republicans. A second resolution, the civil contempt charge that would authorize the House Oversight Committee to seek judgment in federal court requiring Holder to comply with subpoenas, passed by a vote of 258 to 95, with 21 Democrats voting with Republicans.

Rep. Ron Paul's "Audit the Fed" bill was passed in the House Oversight Committee and is on its way to a full House vote. It is expected to pass in the House, but a similar bill in the Senate has less support.

Investigation into the "Fast and Furious" gun-walking scandal continues to reveal disturbing developments. On Sunday, Representative Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight Committee that is leading the investigation into the operation, told ABC News’ Jake Tapper that pertinent emails revealed that the agenda of the operation was to advocate for greater gun control, not as alleged to pursue criminal prosecutions of drug cartel members.
