On October 20, her Muslim father, Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, mowed her down because Noor was, he believed, "too Westernized." In court over the weekend, the Iraqi immigrant freely admitted he killed his daughter to preserve the family's "honor." Faleh Almaleki also hit Amal Khalaf, the mother of Noor's boyfriend. She survived the vehicular attack.
"At a court hearing over the weekend in Phoenix," the Associated Press reports, "county prosecutor Stephanie Low told a judge that Almaleki admitted to committing the crime. 'By his own admission, this was an intentional act and the reason was that his daughter had brought shame on him and his family,' Low said. 'This was an attempt at an honor killing.'"
As well, another AP report said, "Family members said Noor Almaleki had been living with her boyfriend and Khalaf, and Faleh Almaleki was upset that his daughter had become too 'Westernized,' had failed to live by traditional Muslim values and had disrespected the family."
Faleh Almaleki tried to flee the country after he ran down Noor. He drove to Mexico and flew to London, but British authorities deported him to Atlanta. From there, that he was extradited back to Phoenix. Noor died after spending the time since the attack in a coma.

... Kind of hard for the MSM to pooh pooh the idea that there is even such a thing as honor killings, much less they they can, and DO, happen in America. |

Which is the worst sin? Disrespecting family honor, or murder? True, it would be nice if kids would try to do things that brought more honor to their family once again, because nowadays they are swept up in a tide of cultural trashy trends and have role models even worse than ever. But once you are 20 years old, you are not a kid, and your parents should not try to undo or redo you; your adult choices shouldnt be worthy of parental murder to save the honor and traditions of your family. Haven't they ever heard of disowning and avoiding? |

... I saw a picture of Noor on Fox news. She was very beautiful. Such a violent death. One wonders what will happen in Eurostan as the muslim population continues to swell and they fail to westernized. |

westernize or don't immigrate it is very sad....guess they immigrate here but forget their laws do not apply here...we need to stop immigration of these people before our laws begin to accommodate them (sharia) |
