Obama Administration Responsive to Gay Lobby

The Obama Justice Department announced earlier this week that they would no longer stand by the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which has been the law of the land since 1996, when under Democratic President Bill Clinton, the Congress passed the legislation by overwhelming majorities. The act declares that a state need not recognize a same-sex marriage recognized by another state, and that the federal government’s definition of marriage is one existing only between one man and one woman.

The New York City Council is waging its next battle against pro-lifers, as its members are seeking to essentially ban Crisis Pregnancy Centers, which offer pregnant women alternatives to abortion.

John Birch Society president John F. McManus, as part of his nationwide speaking tour, addressed a standing room-only audience recently in the idyllic town of Riverdale, New Jersey. McManus addressed the crowd of over 250 people on the issue of exposing and defeating the New World Order, which members of The John Birch Society have identified and warned against in over 50 years of education and advocacy. The two hour-long address, Stopping the New World Order: An Overview of America, explored the true nature of power, prestige, and influence in the United States, and touched upon all major sources, personalities, and historical events central to understanding why United States policy, both domestic and foreign, has taken its current path, and has ventured down this course of action for so many years.

The name John Hospers may not evoke too many memories among most people, although those in the movement for greater freedom and constitutionalism are well aware of the manifold contributions this man made to the liberty movement in American politics. He died June 12 at the age of 93, after a lengthy battle with various illnesses.
