Hours after Congress voted to raise the debt ceiling, the national debt rose enough to consume 60 percent of $400 billion allowed.

According to the Washington Times, spending shot up $239 billion on Tuesday, the largest one-day increase in American history.

The Traditional Values Coalition has released the second installment of its investigation into grant-making by the National Institutes of Health. This time, TVC reveals that U.S. taxpayers pumped $90 million into “research” that included investigating AIDS in China, Chinese prostitutes, and a treatable parasite that infects one in every 1,000 Chinese.

North Dakotans who love the fierce Indian mascot of their state university are circling the wagons to battle an attack from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The governing body of American collegiate sport, which critics say was seized by political correctness many moons ago, no longer allows its members to use offensive Indian names. So the Fighting Sioux of the University of North Dakota might have to ride off to the Happy Hunting Ground. (Fighting Sioux logo at left.)

MSNBC to Hire Sharpton?

SharptonAl Sharpton, the anti-Semitic demagogue, is expected to take the place of Cenk Uygur on MSNBC in the 6 p.m. weekday time slot. The New York Times reported that Sharpton and MSNBC are prepared to sign a contract, and that Uygur refused to sign a contract to work in a weekend slot. However, the Times article ignored Sharpton’s long history of anti-Semitic and racial instigation, and how he defamed police when inserted himself into the Tawana Brawley case.

Once again, the Gawker.com has shown, if you work for the man who talked about hope and change, you can have a lot of hope youll get a lot of change: 146 of President Barack Obamas 270 staff members received an average raise of eight percent for the 2010-11 year.

Gawker correctly observes that Americans suffer while the Obama class of 2012 rakes in the money, every cent of it taken from those suffering American taxpayers. Obama plays golf; his leftist myrmidons get rich. Americans pay for it.

In-state tuition for illegal aliens in Maryland may go down in flames. Immigration patriots in the Old Line State have collected enough signatures on a petition to suspend Marylands DREAM Act and force a referendum in November 2012 on the giveaway to border jumpers.

City and town clerks across New York are preparing for a surge in same-sex (aka LGBT or GLBT) nuptials, the New York Times reports.

Such is the size of the coming fairytale wedding contingent, thanks to the state’s new law legalizing“same-sex "marriage,” that New York City will open its clerk’s offices on July 24, a Sunday. That is the day the law takes effect.

One reason the U.S. Government debt has rocketed into the fiscal stratosphere, the Center for Public Integrity reports, is that the Obama administration has increased the government's fleet of limousines by 73 percent. It's a small reason, admittedly. But it's a reason nonetheless.

The Obama regime has added 174 limousines in which federal functionaries can ride in style. That increases the number from 238, during the profligate years of Bush the Spender, to 412 today.

Imagine this: An illegal alien murders your son. The killer is caught, but the prosecutors suggest a plea bargain for a lesser crime, promising that the murderer will be deported as soon as his sentence is served. You agree to the plan. After the illegal serves his sentence, Immigration and Customs Enforcement takes him into custody. But instead of deporting him, he's released back on the streets.

Schultz Suspended For Ingraham Attack

Leftist radio bigmouth Ed Schultz (left), who appears on MSNBC, has been suspended for a week without pay for calling conservative radio talker Laura Ingraham a "slut."

Schultz blurted out the slur on his radio show on Tuesday during another of his frothing monologues, this one about conservatives who noticed that President Obama was visiting Ireland rather than visiting the victims of the tornado that leveled Joplin, Mo.
